This is the top-level policy of Nxt7a's AI Management System (AIMS). It states our commitment to developing and using AI responsibly, and sets the framework under which our AI-specific policies operate.
Applies to all AI systems Nxt7a develops, deploys, integrates or uses – including the Earth Intelligence platform and its models, third-party AI services (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Vertex AI), and AI features built into our tools – and to everyone involved in their lifecycle.
Commitment. Nxt7a commits to an AIMS aligned to ISO/IEC 42001:2023, with leadership support and resources for responsible AI throughout the AI lifecycle.
Principles. Our use of AI is guided by principles consistent with Australia's AI Ethics Principles and our own values:
Indigenous data and AI. AI developed or used on Indigenous data and knowledge is subject to the Data Sharing & Indigenous Data Sovereignty Policy, including consent and governance requirements.
Human oversight. Material AI-influenced decisions, and any published environmental claims derived from AI, have meaningful human oversight and verification.
Risk-based governance. AI risks and impacts are assessed and managed proportionately (see the AI Risk & Impact Assessment Policy).
Supporting policies. This policy is implemented through the AI Risk & Impact Assessment, Model & Data Governance, and AI Use Guidelines policies.
AI governance is monitored through impact assessments, reviews and incident handling. Breaches are addressed under the Code of Conduct and relevant security/privacy processes.
